Fried Food

 

There are various types of deep-fried foods, but there are five ways to fry them. The first is deep-fried food. This is a method of draining the water from the material and then raising it as it is, and the appearance and color of the material are utilized. The second is fried chicken. This is a method of sprinkling with flour or potato starch. The third is deep-fried Tatsuta. Generally, it is made by hitting prawns, stretching them thinly, and deep-fried them. The fourth is deep-fried batter. Batter made mainly of wheat flour is fried on fish and vegetables, and includes tempura and kakiage. The fifth is Satsuma-age. Using fish paste as the main ingredient, vegetables are put together and fried. There are the above five types of frying.          

 Next, I would like to introduce some unfamiliar fried foods. Do you know a food called darsy pie? It is a staple of Taiwanese night market, and is from Taiwan, which is characterized by its large size. Last year, it became popular on SNS etc., and some people may have seen it. First of all, I will introduce how to make it. The ingredients are chicken breast, pickled sauce made from garlic and ginger, potato starch and shiratama-ko for batter, and five-spice powder (Wu Shan Feng).Remove the skin from the chicken, halve it, and beat it with a cotton swab. This makes it larger than the palm of your hand. Then soak it in the sauce for 1 hour. By adding five-spice powder (Wu Shan Feng) here, it becomes an appetizing and spicy scent. After that, mix the potato starch and shiratama-ko and raise at 170 degrees for about 7 minutes to complete. Adding potato starch to the batter gives it a crunchy texture. There used to be a store for it in Shimotori, Kumamoto, but it's gone now. If you are interested, please make it yourself and eat it.
